Aaron Schobel in no rush to sign
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 9, 2010 11:21 AM ET
Former Bills defensive end Aaron Schobel has been a free agent for five days, and it doesn't appear he's in a hurry to change his status.
Schobel said that the Houston Texans would be his top choice as a free agent and the interest is mutual, but Schobel probably isn't a big fan of training camp. (Insert Brett Favre joke here.) ESPN's Paul Kuharsky writes that "it could be a while" before Schobel decides where to sign.
Seahawks G.M. John Schneider publicly expressed interest in Schobel, although Schneider assumes Schobel is ticketed for Houston. A report in New England indicated the Patriots had strong interest in Schobel.
Mario Williams' recent hip injury may prove to be no big deal, but it's a reminder why Schobel may as well wait. As injuries pile up, Schobel's pricetag may rise as well.
