Very impressive win, and they did it against a pretty good team in Buffalo. I was hoping all week we'd just find a way to win the game and get by another week, but wow was this a nice surprise.

1) Offensively this was one of the best performances we have seen in years. Even without Austin and Felix Jones, the Bills D was no match for our offense. Tony Romo played by far his best game of the year, and probably his best game since late in the 2009 season. He's now gone two straight games without an int, and we havent allowed a sack in those two games either. Perhaps some of Romo's lackluster play the first half of the season was the injury. Lets hope that it was, because if he is going to throw the ball as well as he did yesterday (and alot of the Seattle game) we are definitely a different team.

2) We had 3 drives of 10+ plays, two of them ended in TD's and the 3rd ended in a FG but was one of my favorite drives of the year. All 11 plays were run plays in that 4th qtr drive, and they did it mostly from the 22 formation against a Bills team clearly expecting running plays. That drive took almost 8 minutes off the clock. Very reminiscent of 4th qtr drives from 1991-1995 when we'd have a lead late and just dominate the LOS.

3) Demarco Murray was definitely the steal of the draft. The warroom went bonkers about this pick when it happened too, and now we all see why. Murray has almost 700 yds rushing now and in the last two games has 42 carries for 274 yds, and has added 10 receptions for another 83 yds. We got incredibly lucky in 1990 to get Emmitt Smith. He was expected to go much earlier than where we ended up getting him, and we werent even targeting a RB with that 1st rd pick that year. Its clear Murray should have gone much earlier than where we got him this year.

4) The OL continues to get better. Yeah, Kosier isnt the long term answer at RG and its likely they'll be looking to upgrade the C spot from Costa, but as a unit they are perfoming at a solid level. We are definitely set for years to come at both tackle spots. Holland has really played pretty well though. Tyron Smith is probably going to make the probowl as a 20yr old rookie. Amazing. By the way, Smith doesnt even turn 21 for another month. This is definitely a better OL than what we trotted out last year.

5) As Simms and Nance alluded to during the game, the Cowboy scouting department deserves some kudos for what they did. Holland, Laurent Robinson and Fiametta were all really nice additions to the team. Murray deserves all the props he is getting, but the run games massive improvement also coincided with getting Holland and Fiametta both out there healthy.

6) Dez Bryant is getting better, and thats probably bad news for CB's on other teams. He ran some really sharp routes each of the last two games. Seems to be getting more and more comfortable with the system and Romo looks like he is developing more and more chemistry with him. Once Austin gets healthy and returns, not many teams can put good enough DB's out there to cover all our WR's, plus Witten, plus our backs out of the backfield.

7) We ultimately gave up only 7 points and got 4 turnovers, but the defense's play is still a concern. The Bills definitely left alot of big plays out there by missing some deep throws, and for the 3rd straight week the run defense was really bad. The pass rush isnt getting there either.

8) Very quietly, T New is having a really good year. Looks like he is close to 100% and is making alot of plays on the ball. He was outstanding yesterday and should have gotten credit for two more passes defensed rather than two awful PI calls, in addition to the two picks. Cant wait till Jenkins is back out there healthy.

9) Officials= awful. Not much more needs to be said, it was extremely one sided again.

10) Holy crap is Dan Bailey good. Forget about the fact that he's made all but one FG this yr (I believe he's now 23/24) but his FG's are almost right down the freaking middle EVERY kick. His accuracy so far is uncanny. And for all this talk abotu how he cant kickoff, his kickoffs are better than the kickoff specialist we just put on IR. He had 6 touchbacks yesterday. This is another thing we got incredibly lucky with. They were doing everything they could to avoid giving the job to him in preseason. Luckily Dave Rayner crapped his pants those two FG attempts he had vs Miami in that last preseason game, otherwise Bailey might be kicking for someone else right now.

11) How the heck did we get smoked so bad vs Philly? Losing at home to Arizona with the backup QB? How does a team like Seattle turn around and beat Baltimore? Yesterday for us is about as good as it gets, with all 3 other NFC East teams losing.

These next 3 games are huge, and I am particularly curious to see how they respond vs Washington Sunday after such a dominant win this week. Washington is awful, lose this game an then the nice blowout vs Buffalo means almost zilch. They should beat these next 3 teams and get to 8-4, and the Giants have to play Philly, New Orleans and Green Bay during that span. Its quite possible we could have sole possession of 1st place in our division before we kickoff that game on SNF vs the NYG.

Awesome stuff, db. Excellent commentary on the game. Love your weekly post-game.

All I would add is Frank Walker to your list of great pick-ups.

It's too bad you went to last weeks game and not yesterday's.

The atmosphere was good yesterday and the crowd was into the game pretty well for a noon game.

I am amazed by the cornerback rotation on our defense. I have never seen a team rotate it's cornerbacks before....we do it every snap...not sure the reason, but it seems to be working.

We also are rotating our olb a ton. Yesterday and last week Demarcus ware was on the sideline a lot, I thought he was nursing his back spasms or something still last week, but I think they are just trying to keep him fresh for late in the game. He wane even in on the plays in the red zone during the drive the bills scored on.

Newman has been great. I keep saying it, if we had signed Namdi and he was playing exactly like Newman the local idiots would be running around praising Namdi for making such a difference. Namdi probably would have been great here, but he thought the eagles Were a free pass to the super bowl for some reason.....oh well...thats his fault.

Demarco Murray has changed everything...a healthy Tony romo without the flak jacket looks terrific. Glad to see Garrett let him go out there and throw the ball again.

For all the whining about Jerry and the front office, looks like we acquired quite a bit of talent this offseason.

Demarco Murray, Tyron smith, Bruce Carter, Dan Bailey, Laurent Robinson, Tony fiametta, frank walker, Abe Elam, ,phillip tanner.

That is pretty damn good. Can't wait to see this team with Austin, Jenkins and jones back health to go with a healthy romo and Murray.

All great points, Theebs.

I especially agree about Jerry, but I think some of the credit has to go Garrett's way, especially for the draft. It's beginning to look like to me that Red has a sharp eye for talent. I'm absolutely sure that Murray was his call, but he was also all over Andy Dalton and we've all seen how he's turning out. What will prove the point to me, though, is when we come out of New York City in April with Peter Konz or Mike Brewster in our hip pocket.

Good read. Thanks for posting. ~bowing smiley with blue star background~

The only downside to yesterday was that Ware didn't register more sacks. Oh well.

I didn’t watch the game. First time in a long time i choose to spend the day with my family. Decided i needed to step back from my obsession. Surprised you would say the defense was really bad when they only gave up 7 points. Creating turnovers is part of “being good”. I also Ryan Fitz stats and they were not good. I still think you are being too hard on the defense for whatever reason.

Ware continues to get mugged and no calls for it. What a surprise. Despite that though, I will admit that the officiating was better than most of what we endured this seasons. Not great by any stretch, but we've definitely seen worse.

It's called, 'any given Sunday'. I think the Eagles put it all in the basket against us and have nothing left. They were a desparate team and by beating the Cowboys, especially in the manner that they did, they were banking on it jumpstarting and saving their season. I hope they dig down and come up with something this coming Sunday.

I'm not as worried about the Redskins this week, as I was at the beginning. However, the Cowboys need to go in with an attitude of taking care of business. The Redskins are in a unique situations, on one hand, they don't want to get swept by the Cowboys and they are in spoiler mode, but at the same time, a win could move them out of getting a decent QB. Cowboys cannot take these guys easy.

It'll be tough but we can win those games. Don't think any of them will be blowouts. The Giants have it worse than we do.

Its not that they were "really bad" its that they werent all that sound. Buffalo had several good opportunities for big plays downfield and just misfired (or dropped). They also chewed us up running the ball and there wasnt alot of pressure on the QB.

If you taped it and get a chance to watch, you'll see what I mean. There were some very good plays, but they gotta straighten a couple things out.

I saw some highlights but i found a full video a few minutes ago, will watch it later today. I will say that i didn’t they played well last week either. Thankfully they have a few more bad offenses to iron things out.

As far as pressure goes, we really only have Ware and Ryan is doing his best to keep him singled up...

We need another Guy come next year through the draft or FA. I don't believe ware was even on the feild most of the 4th quarter. Butler and the other guys got a lot of garbage time in.

You'd think Spencer would get a few sacks here and there. Ridiculous.

They gave up the run to avoid a quick strike. Dallas was up big early.

Is romo now on 4 games without a pick considering Martelleus threw a ball to the eagles?
