1 – Michael Brewster C 6-5/305 Ohio State – 4 year starter at Ohio State. Solidifies the Center position for us for the next decade.

2 – Markelle Martin S 6-1/198 Oklahoma State – Finally a Safety! Big hitter who runs a 4.43 40 and has a 37-inch vertical. Should compete for a starting job immediately.

3 – Nigel Bradham LB 6-2/240 Florida State – Bradie James and Keith Brooking are free agents so we will need depth here. Bradham, like Lee and Carter, is a quick linebacker but is a better pass rusher. Rob Ryan gets another toy.

4 – Joe Adams WR 5-11/190 Arkansas – 4.38 40 time. Instantly improves return game and will challenge Kevin Ogletree for 3rd WR spot. Did I mention the 4.38 40 time?

5 – Janzen Jackson S/CB 6-1/190 McNeese State – 2 year starter at Tennessee. Had 5 interceptions and was named 2nd team All-SEC as a sophomore. He failed multiple drug tests and was dismissed before resurfacing at McNeese State, his father’s alma mater. Appears to have cleaned up his act and is now playing CB. No way he makes it out of the 2nd round without the issues.

6 – Blake DeChristopher G/T 6-4/312 Virginia Tech – College tackle who may be better suited at guard in the NFL. 41 starts going into his senior year.

7 – Case Keenum QB 6-1/210 Houston – Put up a ton of numbers at Houston but also had some injuries (played 6 years). Will get a shot at the #3 job.

Joe Adams is a slick little player, I like that fit.

We need starters at DL soon and Lee/Carter should be good. How much more do we need behind them besides like Albright/Church.

Melvin Ingram in the 3rd instead?

And I like Russel Wilson as the 3rd QB. Similar style to Romo and Mcgee and a winner.

what's funny is I tried to figure out a way to get Ingram and Wilson in this mock. I love Ingram's athleticism and versatility BUT we have so many holes next year I stayed away from defensive line. We have 7 returning defensive linemen coming back that are either under contract or we have exclusive rigts on. We have 2 returning ILB's (Lee and Carter). Albright is a pass-rusher outside linebacker type and Church is a safety so I wanted some depth there.

I actually described Wilson to a buddy of mine as a "Black Tony Romo". I like him a lot. Only drawbacks is possible baseball career and the fact that he's only 5'11". If Wilson was there in the 7th, I'd take him over Keenum.

I find your analysis of Albright and church to be condescending and bedantic. They're fresh bodies that matter there.(or could be played there if the safeties are Martin/Elam)

the starters at ILB will be as young an up and coming as it can get.

Every relevant body at dl is on the downside or underwhelming(Brent). I bet Ryan will love the versatility snd athleticism of ingram. Former LB.

We could probably just email eachother these exchanges rather than make threads between us

I get that Church can play nickel LB I was just saying I wanted some real depth there. I am perfectly content with the duo of Carter and Lee being starters there for the next several years, unless of course Vontaze Burfict is sitting there at our pick.

I agree we need some more talent at D Line but I'd like to actually address the holes, something I think our General Manager forgets about. I really hope we make a run at Miami NT Paul Soliai in Free Agency. A starting DL of Soliai, Ratliff, and Hatcher with Spears, Brent, Coleman, and Lissemore backing them up would be okay. No actual ILB's behind Lee and Carter is an issue.

Youre already looking at depth in round 3? At that point they still need a starting CB, DL, and possibly another G/C.

Is Sean Lee even leaving the field at this point?

And in this scheme I may start to lean towards CB earlier than safety. You and I are the leaders of the "Gerald Sensabaugh:meh" club, but so far he has been isolated far less than the starting corners

I very much wanted a CB, specifically Brandon Boykin from Georgia, in the 2nd. I just wanted a safety more. I use CBSSportsline NFLDraftScout as a loose ratings system for players and I just didn't like any of the CB's they had projected in the 3rd round range.

I'm thinking we let Newman go for cap reasons, leaving Jenkins and Scandrick as starters. In that scenario I hope we bring in a decent veteran for depth.

Jesus 4 sacks and a pick for Melvin ingram. What a weapon. He's not lasting that long
