Dallas Cowboys linebackers coach Reggie Herring is scheduled for a job interview with Houston coach Gary Kubiak on Wednesday. If the session goes as expected, Herring will be reunited with Texans' defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. With Phillips in the role of head coach, he brought Herring to the Cowboys in 2008.
Dan ``Wink'' Martindale, dismissed this week as Denver's defensive coordinator, is the top candidate to replace Herring on the staff of presumptive defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Martindale has an association with the Ryan family dating back to his time working with Rex Ryan at the University of Cincinnati in 1996-97. Rex and Rob Ryan are twin brothers.
Rob Ryan also needs a line coach to replace Paul Pasqualoni, who went to the University of Connecticut as head coach. Ryan has ties to SMU receivers coach Jeff Reinebold, who has coached defensive line at the collegiate level.
