Martavis Bryant was cut by Oakland and is facing a suspension before the season begins him and Dallas seem like a match.Considering how Dallas always has so many suspended players.

TJ Johnson from Cinci makes some sense. I think he's a vested vet so doesn't have to clear waivers. Played for our OL coach for 5 years at C.

Xavier Sua Filo has starting experience at G and was a former 2nd rd pick. Although I don't know if he can play a anything other than G, and the guy we traded for can play G & T

TE Clive Warford is interesting.

Of course we know the Cowboys were set to draft RB/returner Donnell Pumphrey last yr and Philly moved ahead of us to get him IIRC. We ended up with Switzer with the next pick. Pumphrey was waived yesterday.

The Giants waived two safeties with starting experience, although Darian Thompson was waived injured I believe. Has been out for most of camp with a hamstring injury. Thompson was another player the Cowboys reportedly liked in the draft and he's a Boise Stater, They also cut Andrew Adams who started 14 games in 2016. Reporters for the Giants seem surprised at both moves. Both these guys would be subject to waivers.

Pittsburgh waived QB Landry Jones, who does have some starting experience.

CB DeShawn Shead is another name to watch, played for Richard in Seattle and we only kept 4 CB's.

I am still hoping we get FS Earl Thomas. With the contracts given this past week to Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack, if Lawrence repeats last year's monster season he might end up being impossible to keep. They have the makings of a really strong D, but getting a true FS like Thomas to go after the ball in the air and QB a young secondary could move the D from really good to potentially a dominant "Doomsday"- esque unit.

They need to take advantage of the rookie contract of Prescott and the potential future loss of Lawrence by making a big move like getting ET.

Besides the dope problem, missed all kinds of time in TC with "migranes". Probably would be the most talented WR on this roster but no thanks.

Paxton Lynch is out there. Kick the tires? Landry Jones might make a good veteran 3rd QB.

Looks like we're drafting best available TE next year.

We made two waiver claims, one a former Browns/Texans safety drafted in the 4th rd a few yrs back, the other was a Bills C they released and intended to put on their practice squad.

There's a report out this morning that says we turned down a trade for Paxton Lynch before he was released.

Noah Brown is going on IR today, reportedly we are going to re-sign WR Deonte Thompson.

Still got a feeling Jerry will be a moth to a flame with Lynch. Helen will fix him, no problem. LOL! Never liked Landry Jones, still dont.

Still somewhat surprising we only have 4 CB's on the roster.

Xavier Woods spent most of his time last year playing kinda a nickel/dime/slot sort of role.

Hmmmm……..

Whats Up Mr. Cooper

I believe Jonathan Cooper is a free agent. I know he had a minor knee injury in SF and it was report he was release 9-1-18. If so, and he has healed. The Cowboys should sign him ASAP as he can play OG and C.

Anyone knows contrary or more?

I'm tempted to put Collins back at guard and Fleming at right tackle, but Fleming sucked balls in pre-season.

Most guards these days are 6'6" and 330lbs. So we picked a guy who's 6'4" and 295lbs. Brilliant.

Jonathan Cooper was 6-2-311 out of college UNC. He has been the best LG since Collins was moved. See 2016. He could also play C. If available and healthy, he would make the most sense.

He's gonna grow dude, he'll definitely get stronger and add weight.

Tyron Smith was around 285 lbs when he came out of USC

As usual, you have a very warped memory.

He was adequate at best and many games was below average.

Ronald Leary was a far better LG than Cooper or Collins, and it isn't even close.

Why would you make him a starter if he's not fully grown? He's a liability out there at that weight.

You are partially right about Leary. Leary never played C. Jonesboys need a OG that can also play C. That was why Jonathan Cooper was signed in 2016 and did well both years as Jonesboy.

Leary was a tackle in college that had the same knee problem Mack had at UCLA. Leary converted to OG signed as a UDFA. Leary never played C. You want one of your starting OG to have experience at C or be able to move to RT. See John Fitzgerald, Tom Rafferty, Mark Stepnoski, Ray Donaldson, John Gesek, and Crawford Ker. All played OG and C. This keeps your line from going to crap when you loose a C or an OG. If your C goes down the starting OG can move to C, and you plug in a G which usually is one of your back up T.

Larry Allen type is what you want at pure G which is a former OT converted to G. See also Nate Newton, Kevin Gogan, and Herb Scott all converted T to G. At the Tackle position you want to get a pure LT which are hard to find/high premium draft pick or a LT that can play RT or a RT that can play LT. See Smith RT converted to LT, Collins LT converted to RT/OG, and Jim Cooper pure T. Rayfield Wright played basketball and TE before HOF LT for the Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys were so good at converting 4-3 DT to LT/RT see Mark Tuieni, Pat Donovan, and John Fitzgerald was a DT converted to C (rare).

Unless Leary could play T in the NFL, he was one dimensional as a OG with no ability to swing to C. Jonesoys should have kept Cooper. You lose your C and do not have a strong back up that can play OG you are what you are now.

Leary had some nasty. The OL was its best when Leary was playing.

Tyron Smith was 11 pounds heavier than Connor (307lbs), was faster/quicker than Connor, and was 3 reps better at 225lbs and 7 reps at better at his pro day than Connor (31 reps vs. 26 reps). Finally no one was talking about moving Tyron Smith to OG. Connor Williams maybe should be your RT with Collins back at LG. But its too late to move now.

I gave you those facts without insult. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Because he's better than the other guys we have?

Did you not see that dumpster fire backup OL we had out there in preseason?
