If the stats tell the story, then the Cowboys can prepare to hang another NFC East championship banner next season.

According to a statistical analysis on ESPN, the Cowboys are projected to rule their division again in 2017 with a 10-6 record. The Giants and Eagles are both projected to go 8-8, while Washington is pegged at 7-9.

Writer Aaron Schatz calls the NFC East "the strongest division in the NFL," but warns that the tough schedule they all face could leave the division with just one playoff participant.

"The problem isn't just these teams beating up on each other for six games," Schatz said. "The NFC East also draws the two West divisions, which means facing many of the league's top defenses."

While the statistical analysis has Dallas winning out, Schatz admits that the Cowboys' massive losses at defensive back through free agency could have a worse effect than projected.

The Cowboys' projected 10-6 record would be good enough for fourth place in the NFC, according to this statistical model, behind Seattle, Green Bay and first wild card Arizona.

Makes one wonder where they place defending NFC Champion Atlanta.

I'm curious about that as well. With the record breaking monumental fuck up loss in the Super Bowl I'm sure their stock has dropped drastically
