5 Cowboys voted to NFC Pro Bowl team

Congrats to Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliott, both made the Pro Bowl as rookies. I thought I read somewhere its the first time a rookie QB and RB from the same team have ever made the Pro Bowl.

The other 3 were Tyron Smith, Travis Frederick and Zack Martin.

I was a little surprised Sean Lee didn't make it, though the lack of ints & sacks probably did him in.

Don't know how many Cowboys were voted as alternates.

Hopefully none of our guys get to play in the game though.

A league-best seven Oakland Raiders have been selected to play in the 2017 Pro Bowl, according to rosters released by the NFL on Tuesday.

Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and Khalil Mack are among the standouts who will be representing the resurgent Raiders in the annual gridiron all-star fest, which takes place Jan. 29 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Teammates Rodney Hudson, Reggie Nelson, Kelechi Osemele and Donald Penn also were named to the AFC roster.

The Falcons have an NFC-leading six players selected to play in the annual all-star game, including offensive stalwarts Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman.

High-profile rookies Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, who have helped spearhead the Cowboys' return to top of the conference, are among the five Dallas players honored with selections. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans were the other two teams to have five players selected to the game.

Chiefs kick-return sensation Tyreek Hill was the only rookie outside Dallas to get a Pro Bowl nod.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was selected to his 11th career Pro Bowl -- most among active players -- and Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald made the NFC roster for an eighth time.

This season's Pro Bowl will feature a return to the traditional AFC vs. NFC game format following three years using a revised, "unconferenced" format. The festivities, which have been relocated to Florida from its familiar Hawaiian stomping grounds -- also will feature a Pro Bowl Skills Showdown on Thursday, Jan. 26. The events include dodgeball and passing challenges.

Check out the 44-player, position-by-position rosters below:

I agree, he is number two in the league in tackles

For me its more that he makes plays and the impact he has on the game. Both of those things are lacking on this defense currently. I'd be willing to bet if he went down, things would unravel fast. Supposedly guys on other teams call him to improve their ability to diagnose plays.

I stopped giving a shit about players getting pro bowl nods a long time ago.

The game sucks
Most players pull out so alternates play so like 8 Qbs claim to be pro bowlers every year.
The game sucks
Making the pro bowl only gives players leverage come contract time
The game sucks
Exposes player to injury. Rarely happens but Patriots lost a 1k rookie back in the early 90s to career ending knee injury
And also the game sucks

But yeah, Lee deserved it

I do like the idea of the top players at each position being recognized.

But I see zero reason to actually play the game itself

The risk of injury is not worth the extremely low entertainment it actually provides to anyone
