Jerry is back to making coaching decisions. :facepalm

DMN:

Ezekiel Elliott fumbled twice in his second NFL game. He has never fumbled twice in a game before Sunday's 27-23 win over Washington.

It's understandable that fans are concerned.

But Jerry Jones is not.

"He fundamentally carries the ball really sound," the Cowboys owner and GM said Tuesday morning on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show [KRLD-FM]. "He carries it. He carries it up against him. We won't get into all of that detail, but if you asked the question: Is he very sound in the way he holds the football? He is."

Elliott, who finished with 83 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries Sunday, lost a fumble late in the third quarter. He then fumbled again midway through the fourth. He never carried the ball again.

Alfred Morris handled Dallas' final three handoffs.

Will those fumbles affect Elliott's workload or playing time going forward?

"No. They will not, at all," Jones responded. "He's a big man and he carries it properly. He does a good job of finishing, which means he's trying to give the tacklers more than he's getting in terms of how you absorb hits. All of that makes him a sound ball carrier fumbling wise."

So many things wrong with this proclamation by Jerry.

And god damn this idiot for being in his position for so long, with such shit results, and not realizing this.

We'll see what they say if he fumbles more.

They kinda tolerated Murray's fumbles in 2014 because he was so good otherwise. Elliott wasn't a fumbler at Ohio St, so hopefully Sunday was anomaly.

It should humble him a little. Plus, ride the better RB(for now). I'd start Morris. Our rookie QB needs vet help.

Morris has been the more consistent back so far. I trust him to get the 3-4 yards when we need it more so than Zeke at this point.

I hope the fumbles scared the shit out of him and gets him to be more vigilant on ball security from now on

I personally don't see anything wrong with brining Zeke off the bench. If he's still trying to feel his way out like they say then let him get his rhythm backing up Morris, even if it's only for a couple game.

For what it's worth I still expect Zeke to be around to 1,500 yards by the end of the season.
