Dolphins sign Montavious Stanley

Defensive lineman added Aaron Wilson

July 25, 2010, 09:19 AM EST

The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran free agent defensive lineman Montavious Stanley, according to his agent, Ralph Cindrich.

Stanley is a former Dallas Cowboys sixth-round draft pick who played collegiately at Louisville.

He registered 20 tackles and one sack last season for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder has played defensive tackle, but could move to defensive end since the Dolphins run a 3-4 scheme.

Stanley has also had stints with the St. Louis Rams, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL.

The Dolphins have also signed defensive end Marques Douglas to a two-year, $2.5 million contract in the wake of defensive end Phillip Merling's season-ending Achilles injury.

Bill's at it again.

I swung and missed on this guy coming out of college. I thought he was a player.
