Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is, if nothing else, a dreamer.

He dreamed that his 12-win team from a year ago would be a Super Bowl contender.

He also dreamed that his technological terror of a building, AT&T Stadium (aka Jerry World), would be the chosen destination of some of the country's finest sporting events — even outside the NFL.

The first dream has been deferred. The second one — to Jones' nightmare — has come true.

Why a nightmare? Consider this: Our friends over at CBS Sportsline made us aware of an incredible statistic — the Alabama Crimson Tide logged more victories in Jones' stadium than his disappointing Cowboys did.

Two wins in Dallas for Bama. One for the 'Boys.

Ouch.

The Tide opened their season with a 35-17 victory over Wisconsin on Sept. 5, and eight days later the Cowboys came back to beat the New York Giants in the season opener. The Cowboys then lost their next six tries at home, with the losses ranging from the humbling (30-6 loss to Patriots after scoreless first half) to the downright depressing (DeMarco Murray and the Eagles beating them in overtime).

On New Year's Eve, the Crimson Tide earned their second "W" at AT&T by beating Michigan State in the college football national semifinal just a few hours before the calendar flipped.

To be far, the Cowboys have been gutted by injuries — Tony Romo and Dez Bryant to name a few —and do have a chance to add another home victory this season, but that would go on the 2016 calendar. Besides, it has to hurt for the Cowboys to be playing the Washington Redskins, your NFC East champions, who might be resting key players in this one with nothing to gain or lose in the finale.

In another quirky NFL stadium/college team statistic we discovered, the North Carolina Tar Heels lost more games (two) at the Carolina Panthers' Bank of America Stadium than the Panthers (zero) did in 2015, which includes last season's playoff victory over the Arizona Cardinals but excludes this season's home finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Whatever — weird stuff.

But for the Cowboys, it's just another sad, final reminder of what a dumpter fire of a season it has been for Jones' team. Hey, maybe he'll fire Jason Garrett and sign Nick Saban as coach! (We're only partly kidding ...)

Plus the stadium is louder when Alabama plays there than it is at a Cowboys game.
