2015 NFL preseason schedule: Exhibition football kicks off Aug. 9 - SBNation.com

Are you ready for some football? Sure, it's only April (and maybe you've still got snow on your lawn) but real live NFL games are just around the corner.

The league released the 2015 preseason schedule on Thursday, so we now can officially begin the countdown until the first game on Aug. 9. That's when the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers will face off in the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. The rest of the teams kick off their preseason slates a few days later on Aug. 13.

Even if exhibition football isn't your cup of tea, it's still a good sign because it means that regular season games aren't too far away and we can start dreaming about how our favorite team is going to win the Super Bowl.

Dooms you ever sustain any serious head injuries?
Had concussions all through my playing years. Football season and also spring training were always one big headache.

Was predicting there would be crickets and no one would actually read that.

Guess which one I am. 1977. This offense is the split T from the 40s.

Can't tell which one is you because I can't tell which one is drooling on account of it being such an old picture.

He hid his nerdness by posing for the picture as the QB. His real job was to serve high quality H2O.
Back then they didn't let us drink ANY water. Nice try though. All this happened while you were filling your Huggies.

By the way that #22 was truly gifted, consistently ran a 9.7 100 yard dash in track. #34 wasn't far behind him. And both were bruising backs, shifty and slashing as well. Either could take it to the house on any given play from any spot on the field. We lost only one game in three years, when both happened to be out with injury.

Split T depends on quickness in the line and blazing speed in the backfield, and relies on precision execution and timing - the only time we had any trouble with people was in the frikkin mud. This offense is making a comeback, in this day and age of fast track artificial turf being quite common.

Welcome to the club, when you make it. I'm 53.

You got me by 5 years. We're in a foot race with Jerry Jones as to who will meet his maker first. Probably me and I'll have the Johnny Blue waiting but knowing Jerry, the ice will probably be melted by the time he gets there.

That fucker... He'll defy us all and still be around when Midswat finally kicks the bucket at around age 90.
