The good news is Jerry is greatly affected (by way of imitation) by what the previous Super Bowl team did to win. He usually needs a translator like a Jason Garrett to show him how Dallas can be similar. It would be enormous idiocy for Jerry and Jason not to see (or listen to the constant commenting) that New England was alternating quick striking sideline passes and short crossing routes that cleared out the middle allowing one free receiver for YAC. Further good news is Jason doesn't tend to listen to advice, he is very staunch with his closed system (frankly I think he just doesn't know how to add anything and he also doesn't want someone else to remedy his flaws) but he's a visual learner. He needs to try something, watch it fail and then he will consider something else in his playbook. But last night he saw the Patriots use a pass first system with lesser WRs but kept the advancing of the ball scattered in short passes on the perimeter. Most important he saw the world gasp and gnash their teeth at an absurd play that we in the Cowboy universe like to call: the fourth quarter. I have only heard Collinsworth lose objectivity and rip the playcalling and logic of a coach one other time and that was Jason Garrett. The game is on the line and the biggest decoy that is controlling the other team is split out rather than threatening the Patriots and allowing WRs or QBs or anyone to be open. There is a good chance that Jason needed to see and hear the criticism on a global level of the kinds of stupidity that he calls every week. Just based on how Jerry is influenced by the Super Bowl teams, there is another good chance that Jerry may not like to see anything similar in Dallas's playcalling.

The Bad thing is the one real shot, personnel wise, that Dallas had was this past year. They had the best RB in the game and the best running Oline and now both are going to be affected by losing Callahan and Murray. It's hard to see that a record setting player for one half of the offense wasn't even allowed to be in the game at crucial times. The bad thing is Bozo is still calling the shots. Until Jerry makes Jason into a Mike Tomlin where his OC and DC have carte Blanche with e offense and defense, there is a good chance that plays like last nights Super Bowl can still take place.

The Ugly thing about Dallas is still the theory and chaos of the passing game. When you really analyze the phases of the game, the special teams has improved for being terrible in the last few years to being mediocre. There is evidence that there is a problem and efforts are being made to improve. The ST coach is fiery and seems to get the players motivated. The defense is the same way with Marinelli. He is fiery and gets the most out of his players. He changes formations, attacks, teaches turnovers, and has adjusted the system to the players. The running game was the best in the league and could have been better with touchdowns except that the Red Doofus has proclaimed that running is not going to be the first option within the 5 yard line. But then there's the passing game: with exception to the last three games of the regular season the plays were basically the same format and routes that have been in existence since 1981. No matter how slow or lumbering or fast or bruising the players are, the Jason Garrett playbook is the Torah of the offense. Frankly the passing game was responsible for more turnovers (interceptions and fumbles), yards for no gain (incompletions), and yards for loss (sacks) than the running game. Murray had 85 first downs on the running and 16 receiving and he had over 100 more yards after the catch than any other receiver and he is the fastest receiver in straight line speed that Dallas has and yet the Red Doofus would take him out of games in hopes of creating a favorable mismatch with another player like Streets or Williams?? Frankly the only part of the Dallas upturn that is a blemish is the design and theory of the passing game. I doubt Jason will ever allow it to change as long as he is there although there is a chance that he saw the Patriots use the crossing middle patterns and flare outs to control the Seahawks. The only thing really that could make it pretty are blazing fast WRs who truly threaten the deep third. Otherwise, the running game and the defense will have to be spectacular to keep the Red Doofus from singlehandedly losing drive and series momentum and flat out losing Green Bay games.
