Weekend hours are 10 AM to 5 PM tomorrow (Saturday) and again on Sunday if we don't finish Saturday.

This thread will be moved to the Fantasy Forum, once everyone has signed up for the

Overview

Welcome to the sorta First Annual DCU "Todd McShay Invitational" Mock Draft.

I am Todd McShay, and I am the Commissioner of this mock.

Lets start with the rules.

The draft begins Thursday, February 16, 2012, at 8:00 AM Eastern Time and will conclude for the day at 10 PM EST. It will continue with those hours each day for the remainder of the draft. In the 1st round, teams have 60 minutes on the clock to make their pick. Be forewarned, that many times, participants do not take the entire 60 minutes to make their selection, so these do not go by near as slow as it might sound.

The teams will be selected by a blind lottery. No one got to choose their team. If there are available teams after the blind lottery, and you are not pleased with the team you were provided, you can request one of the available teams on a first come, first serve basis.

The Todd McShay Invitational is a four round mock draft.

1. Drafts tend to bog down because time limits aren't enforced. We don't allow this to happen. Your pick will be made within your time limit one way or the other. We ask that any GM who won't be around to check in regularly provides a value board list to the Commissioner. We will then take the highest available player left on your list. If you wish for us to wait your entire allotted clock time, please note that with the list. If you do not, your pick will be made for you from your list if you are not on the board.

A GM also has the option of provided a "Needs List." In doing so, you grant a the Commissioner to make your selection based on the highest rated not yet addressed need based on CBSSports.com prospect rankings.

If the GM fails to provide either a value board or needs list, the Commissioner will solicit imput from the remaining participants and make your selection based on board consensus.

Any no show GM in the first round forfeits their clock time in following rounds. We will not wait the entire clock for every pick for the same absentee GM. We'll wait the first pick. That's it. The rest of the picks get made by the aforementioned CBSSportsline player ranking when the team goes up on the clock, unless that GM is now available.

TIP: Check the draft status when you first get up and see if the time affects you. If you don't have PC access at work and you think the draft may catch up to you, make sure we know that and go ahead and make your selections known to me via PM.

One way or the other the mock draft will move on.

2. No trading veteran players. These trades just get silly. You can trade picks in this year's draft, and in the 2013 draft.

3. Do not ask other people what you should do. This is your chance to be a GM. Do your homework. Know your team's needs. Know the players in the draft.

4. I want to keep this mock confined to one thread and we would like to keep the thread clean. To that end we are going to sticky it so it stays up top. I ask that you notify the Commissioner of your picks via PM rather Than posting them in the thread. I will edit the draft board for all to see.

I would like this thread to be one post for the rules, draft order and selections, team by team draft choice chart and then the pick announcements there after.

If posts are being added to this thread they will be deleted. Keep the spirit of the draft intact.

All general Todd McShay Invitational discussions should take place in the Chatter thread in the Fantasy Forum, HERE.

5. If you are interested in trading out of your pick, post a new thread to that end before you are on the clock. If you know a particular team you want to target in a trade, send them a private message.

This thread will be constantly updated as trades occur and picks are made.

I need to hear from both parties to confirm a trade has taken place.

----

Grading

Okay, when the hard part is over and the picks are in, we can all relax a little. But then it's time to determinewho were the winners? The losers? Who made the biggest steal? Biggest reach?

Now of course we won't know who really got the most bang for their buck until these players are 3 or 4 years into their pro careers but for entertainment sake and for bragging rights, we'd like to have one consensus final report card.

To do this we are asking each GM to visit the "Team by Team Selections" thread that will be posted separate from this thread and take a few minutes to grade each class.

The rating scale will not be a letter grade but on a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being excellent, 5 being average and 1 being absolutely terrible.

We ask everybody to keep in mind the ammunition each GM had to work with when they began this process. We're not looking to crown the GM who was lucky enough to acquire two first round picks as the winner. We want to establish who got the most value with what they had to work with. Also remember to factor in any added or lost 2013 draft picks, as they will be noted with each GM's class. Any added or lost 2012 picks during this mock will also be noted within the "Remaining Selections" and "Original Selections".

Leave the bias aside, forget the usernames and give your honest evaluation of each class. Assign a number grade to each team and send your list to the Commisioner, Todd McShay.

And in a further effort to prevent bias from tainting the grading, we ask that you do not grade your own team. Let your peers tell you how you did.

Also add who you felt was the biggest steal in the first four rounds and who was the biggest reach.

Once I receive grades from all the GM's, I will average them out and post the results in a "Final Report Card" and crown a Champion.

I would appreciate if each GM takes the 10 minutes to do this. It'll be a fitting end to what we hope will be a good mock draft overall.
