Original Doomsday Defense Member. Andrie was what Harvey Martin became to Randy White. He was the guy that freed Bob Lily from double teams on pass rush. Andre could have played as a 4-3 RDE today. If Lily did not get you Andrie would get you.

I became a Cowboys fan in 1968 and remember George Andrie. Condolences to his family and Cowboy fans.

RIP to one of the original but seemingly forgotten members of Doomsday. Very under rated player.

He was the guy that freed Bob Lily from double teams on pass rush.
Nobody freed Lilly from the double team, he just beat them. The guy who actually benefitted most from Lilly was Jethro Pugh with almost 100 sacks.

Landry liked Andrie, he'd point him out on his coaches show film reviews quite a bit.
May he RIP.
He would also point out Lilly out quicking everybody and routinely beating double and triple teams. Just saying.

Its a shame our millennial fans never got to see Lilly and Staubach play, or Landry coach. Then they'd have a better idea of where we were coming from.

Yea, then they could live in the past like the rest of us right along with Troy.
