feels more like classic jeri to me, forcing the 3rd round pick to play out the rookie contract til the bitter end like they did with Escobar

I think jeri loathes cutting guys he has even the slightest hope for especially if the salary and draft compensation have to be eaten

Also goes against the GM being a football guy lore. Every top 3 pick that craps out reflects badly on the wannabe GM. Sometimes the size of that ego gets grossly underestimated.
