ARLINGTON -- You've already seen it, but Aaron Rodgers did it again. He ripped the Cowboys' hearts out in the final seconds Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium.

Here are my thoughts on the Cowboys blowing another halftime lead, this time falling to the Packers 35-31:

1. Well, that was exactly what the Cowboys didn't need heading into the bye week, another blown impressive start. These are the types of games the Cowboys were winning at this time last year. The defense had some success getting pressure on Rodgers early, but then he just toyed with them in the second half. The good news is San Francisco is up next, and Sean Lee should be back. The bad news: Philadelphia won, creating an even bigger gap in the division.

2. The third quarter was another disaster for the Cowboys. After going into halftime with a 21-12 lead, Dallas was held scoreless in the third quarter for the fourth time in five games. Not sure what's going on at halftime, but the Cowboys continue to need at least 15 minutes to get things going again. Maybe just keep the guys on the sideline at halftime. Mix it up. The Cowboys only had the ball one time in the third quarter. Dak Prescott completed a short third-down pass to Dez Bryant, but that drive quickly stalled. Green Bay dominated the time of possession [11:20 to 3:32] and scored early in the fourth quarter to take its first lead, 22-21.

3. Dak Prescott did everything he could. He played an incredible first half, throwing three touchdown passes. He had the go-ahead score with 1:13 remaining. Unfortunately, against Aaron Rodgers that's rarely enough. Prescott finished 24 of 35 for 223 yards, three touchdowns and an interception that was clearly not his fault. Terrance Williams let a catchable ball go through his hands and right to Damarious Randall for a 21-yard defensive touchdown, putting Green Bay up 28-24 with 9:56 remaining.

4. A good sign for Prescott was that he got back on track with Cole Beasley. Not only did Beasley score his first two touchdowns of the season, but he came up big on the final scoring drive and nearly hauled in another big grab in the final seconds. Beasley was Prescott's favorite target last season. They won't win many games if those two can't continue what they did Sunday.

5. The Cowboys needed Ezekiel Elliott more than ever in the second half Sunday. He did his part. They needed to run the ball and keep Aaron Rodgers on the sideline. Problem is they left him a few too many seconds. Elliott started off the final quarter with a 25-yard run. He continued to carry that momentum throughout the quarter. Elliott entered the fourth with 31 rushing yards. He finished the game with 116. No play was bigger than his reach on the fourth-and-1 run in the final minutes. If he doesn't reach, the Cowboys come up short and most likely lose the game right there. Instead, he gave them a chance that not many other backs could have.

Not sure why anyone gives a fuck about playoff positioning. This game was a preview of exactly what will happen if Dallas somehow sneaks in. Garrett is simply not capable of helping this team defeat good opponents.
