Add talent to the defense? Yes.

But the offense needs two new legs, a new arm, two new hands and a defibrillator.

The offense is bad. If an offense cannot function without one player than something is wrong. The fact that there is so much protection of the offense is very suspicious. The worst thing is no one is allowed to question the offense and the criteria for a player being acquired for the offense is whether he knows the offense. Moore could be in a wheelchair and yet if he knows the offense...

Dallas Cowboys: Stephen Jones: Kellen Moore doesn't have Elway's arm, but he has good instincts and he's a winner | SportsDay

This is Stephen Jones talking about Kellen Moore: "What could he bring to the Cowboys offense?"Well, he really knows this offense," Jones said. "I'd say his pluses right now are how well he knows this offense and how well he gets the ball out, with that knowledge, to the right areas of the field for that particular play or that particular defense. Those are his biggest skills."

Cowboys’ defense solid, but again fails to deliver any big plays | The Star-Telegram

The point is not the defense. Yes the defense can get better but to say a game that the offense scored 7 points and was 13/29 passing and lead rusher ran the ball 9 times for 111 yards and the opposing team was winning 14-7 into the 3rd quarter is not a defense issue. In fact the defense forced 5 straight punts and the Cowboys did nothing on offense. Whether they lost 28-7 or 8-7 it's still a team that is making defense excuses when the offense only managed 7 points the whole game.

The 2014 Packer playoff game was still the offense not getting first downs later in the game and trying a desperation terribly planned 50/50 pass to Dez. The season was about dominating the LOS and winning series and the play calling just fell apart in the third quarter. No systematic strategy or draining the clock, it was pass and stop the clock and give the ball back.

The offense has been predictable and completely dependent on Romos improvising for years.

And until we get new offensive coaching, it'll never change.

both sides are to blame; the offense failed due to Romo not being there and that is a systematic failure on the part of the coaching staff; but the D also failed in that when it counted it never got a stop.

But didn't you hear Steve after the season? That was all because the offense put them in bad positions.

So see, Romo coming back will fix everything on offense and defense.

Sadly, this is what we're dealing with here.

Cowboys confirm they've signed Jeff Heath to a four-year deal. Deadline to sign his restricted free agent tender was next week.

Thank goodness Jerry told Jimmie to take a hike because of his massive ego. Dallas has done so well since his departure.
