Giants' Snee to meet with team officials, considering retirement

Chris Snee has set up a meeting with Giants officials on Monday before training camp officially opens to discuss his future, and according to a source familiar with the situation he is strongly considering retirement, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports. Another source cautioned that the right guard has not made a final decision and won't until talking to his coaches and team staff.
The fact that he's even considering an end to his 10-year career is a sign of how bad his surgically repaired elbow is doing. He had hoped he'd heal fast enough to allow him to participate in spring drills, but he still felt so much pain the team eventually shut him down.
The Giants had also been working center Weston Richburg, their second-round draft pick, at right guard in anticipation of Snee possibly being out a while.
