I don't trust Mercilus for some reason. Mark Barron is Kiper's #1 Safety but I'm not a fan. I'd rather take Nebraska linebacker Lavonte David and make him a Strong Safety, like we did with Darren Woodson.

USC's Nick Perry is going to rise up the boards. He's best as a 4-3 right end but USC drops their DE's into coverage so there is tape on him for 3-4 teams. He's a natural speed rusher but he isn't afraid to mix it up and fight interior OL. When USC had Everson Griffin, they would line up Perry at DT on passing downs.

You chose 17 of 32.

Way to go out on a limb, there cmd!

Ha! I wasn't try to give any inside info or Hostile-like predictions. My buddy who worked for the Cowboys works for the NHL now so I'm just guessing from now on. I still talk to people at USC but not like before when I lived in So Cal.

Why don't you trust Mercilus? Because we recently got burned with another Big 10 pass-rusher?

There's no way in hell I'd spend a pick in the first, second or third round on Jenkins. He's going to enter the league in the substance abuse system, and he has a 10 cent head anyway. Definitely a guy who will be suspended inside 2yrs IMO.

Disagree with you here. Had he declared for the Supplemental Draft I would have thought he's the same troubled, immature kid he had been at Florida for 3 years. By going to a new school, staying trouble free, I think he showed maturity. The combine interviews will be really important with him but I thinked he has turned the corner.

For the past two years, LSU’s defense has been about its playmakers. And while the likes of Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu have gotten a majority of the attention,Morris Claiborne has been steadily improving.

Claiborne picked up his first national award this year, receiving the Jim Thorpe Award (given to the nation’s best defensive back) on the same night Mathieu was honored as the nation’s best defensive player (the Chuck Bednarik Award) and his coach the Home Depot Coach of the Year. He was also named to the Walter Camp All-American among many other All-SEC and All-American teams.

The list of accolades for Claiborne continues to roll in, but it is his on-the-field prowess that is also drawing many NFL scouts' eyes and should he choose to forgo his senior year, it is projected Claiborne could go high in April’s draft.

That is high praise for Claiborne, who would be part of a deep and large cornerback class. But, none of them have the projected value of Claiborne. Many believe he can be a shutdown corner like Darrelle Revis and he’s had the great junior season to help prove it.

In his 13 games this season, he had 46 total tackles, one for a loss. He led the Tigers with six interceptions for 173 yards and a touchdown. He broke up six passes, deflected 12 passes and recorded one quarterback hurry.

His sophomore year was another good year with 37 total tackles, one for a loss and five interceptions for 101 yards. He added six broken up passes, 11 pass deflections and a quarterback hurry. Claiborne also has the added bonus as a quality kick returner. This season he returned 17 kicks for 443 yards and a touchdown.

If Claiborne jumps to the NFL early he may not only emerge as the number one cornerback in the 2012 class, but the number one defensive player. He has shown good ball instincts as well as good speed, both of which could translate well for Claiborne at the next level.

For Claiborne to have asserted himself atop the college football world in a crowded LSU defensive backfield, he has to have been doing something right.

Expect to hear “Morris Claiborne, defensive back, LSU” on day one of the NFL Draft if he decides to go pro, possibly even to one of the first five teams.

Part of ther eason he didnt declare for the supp draft was because he heard his draft stock was falling due to all the drug info that came out. If he had known for sure he was going to be a high draft pick he wouldnt have went to the school he transferred into.
