Brandt: Amukamara A Second Tier Prospect

If Gil Brandt were still in command of the Cowboys' draft board, as he was for the franchise's first 29 years of existence, he might not be in favor of the team taking Prince Amukamara at pick No. 9.
The Nebraska cornerback has built a near-consensus among mock drafters as the Cowboys' most likely target in the first round.
Brandt, who now contributes to NFL.com, has Amukamara rated in the second tier of draft prospects, with at least 10 players in front of him. There are two quarterbacks and two receivers in Tier 1, both unlikely picks for the Cowboys, but the other six players are defensive guys, who could conceivably fit with the team.
Though Amukamara is the first player listed in Tier 2, it doesn't make him Brandt's No. 11 overall prospect, necessarily, since the listings are done alphabetically.
If the Cowboys were to go with the chalk and take Amukamara, they might be picking him ahead of slot, according the some tastes. If that doesn't stike them as a good idea, trading down would be a possibility.
