2nd Update, Post Combine.

By Matt Bitonti

This Mock Will not project trades

last updated: 03/01/11

==
Round 1
==
01. Carolina Panthers - QB Cameron Newton, Auburn

With the pick of the crop, Panthers need a quarterback to improve on 2 win total.

==
02. Denver Broncos - DT Marcel Dareus, Alabama

Broncos defensive line is in shambles, Dareus is a big time player who can occupy several roles.

==
03. Buffalo Bills - LB Von Miller, Texas A & M

Bills defense lacks pass rush and star power. Miller can make game-changing plays.

==
04. Cincinnati Bengals - QB Blaine Gabbert, Missouri

Bengals have upheaval at starting quarterback position, Gabbert should show well at pro day.

==
05. Arizona Cardinals - CB Patrick Peterson, L.S.U.

Cards have cornerback needs and would draft pp7, if only to mess with the Niners.

==
06. Cleveland Browns - WR Julio Jones, Alabama

Browns need a home run hitter, Jones worked out great and fits well in Browns offensive system.

==
07. San Francisco 49ers - CB Prince Amukamara, Nebraska

Niners have a dire need in the secondary, Amukamara has superior man-to-man skills.

==
08. Tennessee Titans - DE J.J. Watt, Wisconsin

Titans need defensive line, Watt is the rare productive hustle player who also is workout warrior.

==
09. Dallas Cowboys - DT Nick Fairley, Auburn

Cowboys have few impact defenders, Fairley has played huge in big games.

==
10. Washington Redskins - WR A.J. Green, Georgia

Green was a spectacular player in the SEC, the Skins will swoop when a blue-chip player drops.

==
11. Houston Texans - DE Cameron Jordan, California

Texans need to add to the pass rush, Jordan can impact in Phillips' 3-4 scheme.

==
12. Minnesota Vikings - QB Jake Locker, Washington

Vikings have several needs but quarterback is probably the most vital .

==
13. Detroit Lions - OT Nate Solder, Colorado

Solder has top 5 measurables but due to raw technique will be available later in the round.

==
14. St. Louis Rams - DE Aldon Smith, Missouri

Rams have needs along their defensive front and can use a weak-side pass rusher like Smith.

==
15. Miami Dolphins - RB Mark Ingram, Alabama

Ingram fits the new OC's system and is a complete running back ready to start early.

==
16. Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Ryan Kerrigan, Purdue

Jags need a reliability at defensive end, Kerrigan is a 4 year starter/captain type that Gene Smith loves.

==
17. New England Patriots (VIA OAK) - OT Anthony Castonzo, Boston College

Pats have never really reloaded the left side of their offensive line, Castonzo is a steady pick.

==
18. San Diego Chargers - DE Cameron Heyward, Ohio State

Chargers need a 5-tech for their defensive front, Heyward is a safe legacy choice.

==
19. New York Giants - LB Martez Wilson, Illinois

Giants have needs at several lb spots, Wilson is a premium athlete could be better pro than college player.

==
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - DE Da'Quan Bowers, Clemson

Bucs continue to rebuild along the defensive front, Bowers stock could be affected by knee injury.

==
21. Kansas City Chiefs - DE Robert Quinn, North Carolina

Chiefs need pass rushing ability and Quinn is a boom/bust player with value this late in the frame.

==
22. Indianapolis Colts - OT Tyron Smith, U.S.C.

Every year we seem to project Colts upgrading left tackle (and get it wrong). Are we crazy?

==
23. Philadelphia Eagles - CB Jimmy Smith, Colorado

If there's no CBA, Eagles won't be able to sign a CB and will have to draft one.

==
24. New Orleans Saints - DE Justin Houston, Georgia

Saints lack pass rushers, Houston worked out well and fits their system nicely.

==
25. Seattle Seahawks - QB Ryan Mallett, Arkansas

Seahawks have other needs but may see the value in developing a QB for long term.

==
26. Baltimore Ravens - WR Leonard Hankerson, Miami

Ravens' pass offense failed them at crucial points, Miami guys tend to succeed in Baltimore.

==
27. Atlanta Falcons - DE Jabaal Sheard, Pittburgh

Falcons need to plan for life after John Abraham, Sheard is rising after great workouts .

==
28. New England Patriots - DE Adrian Clayborn, Iowa

This defense tends toward larger players and Clayborn has Pats ties through Kirk Ferentz.

==
29. Chicago Bears - OT Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin

Bears offensive line is shaky; even though he's the Outland Trophy winner, Carimi is under-rated.

==
30. New York Jets - LB Brooks Reed, Arizona

Jets lack depth at the OLB position and Reed is strong hustle player: Rex Ryan type of defender.

==
31. Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Brandon Harris, Miami

Teams have picked on certain Steelers cornerbacks all season, they need to upgrade.

==
32. Green Bay Packers - DT Christian Ballard, Iowa

Packers D-Line has several free agents, Ballard could be a better pro than college player.

If we drafted Nick Fairley with the 9th pick, I'd be excited as hell.

What are the chances that draft daddy is a Redskins' fan? Because this is pretty much most Redskins' fans wish list: Green and then Phil Taylor---who mind you, is slated to be a 1st rounder.

Having Cam Newton go #1 overall despite having an underwhelming combine says it all in terms of credibility. Fact is, most Redskins' fans do not want Newton even though mocks have Newton going there. J.J. Watt being selected ahead of Fairly, yeah OK. Robert Quinn falling all the way to 21. Ok.

Because he cant cover well enough to warrant that selection.

And with Phil Taylor going a pick later, it would be awful.

Laz said it best. It looks like the guy who did this was a Redskin fan.
