MOBILE, Ala. -- Oregon State defensive lineman Stephen Paea will undergo surgery Thursday after damaging his lateral meniscus in his right knee during a practice drill at the Senior Bowl.
A magnetic resonance imaging exam revealed the injury. Initially, Paea was hopeful that it wasn't serious at all.
The 6-foot-1, 311-pounder expressed disappointment at the injury and said he hopes to bounce back soon.
"I hurt it on the second play of practice, they said I sprained it," Paea said. "It sucks, but I'll be back as soon as possible. I'll get back to work and get back on the field. It could have been a lot worse."
